Arts Journey and the mission of community development through arts.

It started with the personal efforts of a local designer – Pham Huyen Kieu, with the support from organisations such as Haki, KVH, Experts in Action (EACG), the Design Alliance Asian (tDA), Asian Communications Design Alliance (ACDA). KVH Arts Journey (aka AJ for short) is a community-based non-profit program to promote the development of visual arts in particular, culture and art in general in Vietnam and a number of Asian countries and regions.

AJ mission is to show-casing artisans, artists, designers, craftspeople to the masses. AJ bridging the platform for them to have more opportunities to reach their audience easily and quickly, thereby enriching the spiritual life of the society.

In fact, local artists have less conditions to introduce and display their works to the public compared to larger cities. The difficulty of facilities, organisational conditions, makes them have little opportunity to introduce themselves to the public. Therefore, many valuable works, many artists and artisans, have great potential, but the opportunity for public contact is limited. This is one of the great disadvantages for themselves as well as for public cultural and artistic life.

This is also a great concern of those responsible for the development of culture and art. The absence of professional artistic activities makes valuable works not known to many people, and dedicated artists and their passionate works are drowned in the midst of a fast-moving lifestyle.

AJ as a humble contribution, adding colours to the somewhat slow-paced art life in the locality. Through its activities, AJ contributes to creating interesting experiences for the public, enriching the spiritual life of society as well as calling the attention of the business community.

Not only that, AJ also contributes to creating new perceptions, forming new views, making new faces of art more alive, and practically bringing works of art to the public.

In order to produce more practical, highly effective, professional-quality activities, the founding organisations and individuals of AJ assigned KVH to be the coordinator of the Program. KVH is an experienced marketing agency in the field of organising art programs with the participation of many businesses, both domestic and foreign artists, KVH is also currently one of the main supporters of AJ. Accompanying for nearly 10 years with AJ are many businesses that have generously supported such as: donghothuysi.vn, Galle Watch, Mercantile Exchange of Vietnam MXV, VJS Steel, Vinastone, …

In order to continue to promote wider and more attractive activities, AJ will coordinate with departments, art clubs, universities, and local high schools to organise activities to promote the development of the visual arts not only in the major urban centres but also in the locality. By activities such as publishing, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, vocational training… AJ wishes to contribute to improving the aesthetic capacity of the majority of the public. From there, promote the development of art in the locality and promote the creative value of the local community to the public at home and abroad.

With its efforts, AJ wishes to contribute to the development of cultural and artistic values, arousing a new face and vitality for the arts in the localities, balancing the spiritual life with development economy and society in a more humane and sustainable manner.
